Our editors gather news and press releases from around the world to bring our community the latest developments in the valve and actuation industry. Here you can find news involving the people and companies involved in the design, manufacturing, supply, maintenance and use of industrial valves and actuators. We focus both on engineered products as off the shelf products.

Quarter-turn electric actuators boast rugged desig

Quarter-turn electric actuators boast rugged design ProMation Engineering’s P9-13 Series quarter-turn electric, non-spring return actuators feature a rugged, industrial grade design for use with all ball and butterfly valves or dampers requiring higher torque outputs from 17,500 in.

Ball valve perfect for surge control

When fully open, Val-Matic’s EnerG AWWA rubber seated ball valve provides 100% clear flow are equal to the pipe size, and is the preferred selection for surge control, low headloss and energy savings.

Sanitary ball valves test void of contaminants

U.S. based Triad Process Equipment is a certified ISO 9002 ball valve manufacturer whose products are also registered for use in Canada. They conform to the latest standards set forth by the Canadian Technical Standards and Safety Authority.

Growth forecast for valve industry

A forecast from the McIlvaine Company states that the industrial valve market will hit $53 billion in 2012. The report predicts that Asia will be the biggest market, at more than $20 billion, where the market is driven by the huge investments in heavy industry and infrastructure.

Reduce cost and protect systems

Rather than using two 2-way automated valves to control the flow of liquids, a single 3-way valve does the job with fewer components and lower cost. Assured Automation’s PTP Series 3-Way Ball Valves can be used for flow diverting or controlling two flows coming into a single line.

Fugitive emissions reduced with packing

Fugutive emissions can be reduced to less than 10 ppm with Reduced Emissions Kalrez (REK) packing from Research Control Valves. This optional packing system can be installed new, retrofitted, or customized.

Actuator supports nuclear plant cool down

Enertech, a business unit of Curtiss Wright flow control, has developed an extended mission gas spring actuator model to support nuclear plant cool down during station black conditions. Conventional electro-hydraulic, gas spring actuators are limited to one direction; fail safe positioning of isolation valves.

New NACE compliant pressure relief valves

The Lee Company's new field proven .281 in diameter pressure relief valves are made with materials specifically chosen for optimal performance in harsh duty applications, such as those in the oil tool industry.

Pneumatic volume booster prevents position saturat

Emerson Process Management’s new Fisher® VBL booster incorporates a fixed deadband, internal soft seats and an integral bypass restriction that combine to eliminate the positioner problems typically caused by boosters without these design features.
