Canada’s Talisman Energy has hit gas in the final well of a three well campaign on the Szczawno concession in Poland’s Baltic basin.

Brazil may cut taxes on ethanol production

Brazil is evaluating a possible tax cut on ethanol production to encourage less gasoline imports by Petrobras. Currently, the gasoline sold in Brazil comes with a 20% ethanol mix but the government plans to increase the mix to 25%.

Carbon-capture plant to be constructed

Austin, Texas-based carbon-capture firm Skyonic Corp. has raised USD$9 million from investors which include prominent oil and gas industry players. The funds will be used to begin construction on a full-scale manufacturing facility.

Nebraska nuclear plant tests planned

According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, a full-scale response exercise for the Cooper Nuclear Station in Southeast Nebraska will be held on July 31st. On August 3rd, a public meeting will be held at the Nebraska Public Power District's Emergency Operations Facility Auditorium at 902 Central Avenue in Auburn, Nebraska hosted by the U.

Jacobs receives contract from Shell Canada Energy

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced that it received a five-year contract from Shell Canada Energy for front end engineering design, engineering, procurement, construction support, commissioning support and related services for the Jackpine Mine Tailings and Infrastructure Program.

KITZ introduces CLESTEC product series

  KITZ has launched its “CLESTEC” series of products as a project to start promotion to the eco-car fueling station market, by entering the valve market for hydrogen stations for FCV (Fuel Cell Vehicle) whereas previously KITZ had only partially entered the valve market of compressed natural gas stations in Japan.
