Proposed pipeline may use one-way check valves

Transcanada Corporation has filed a 30,000-page application to convert an existing gas pipeline to carry oil from Western Canada to Cornwall, Ontario. It also wants to build a new pipeline to carry the crude eastward through Quebec to Atlantic Canada.

Enbridge to boost size of pipelines

Enbridge Inc, Canada's largest pipeline operator, plans to boost the size of two lines carrying crude from the oil sands while shaving $400 million CAD ($320.4 million USD) from their original price tag.

Marathon & MRC extend MRO contract

MRC Global has reported that McJunkin Red Man Corporation, MRC Global’s US operating company, has executed a five-year extension to the existing supply agreement with Marathon Oil Company. The agreement, which has been in place since 2009, includes the supply of maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) materials such as valves, line pipe, OCTG and MRO/project services in the Eagle Ford and Bakken Shales, the Rocky Mountain region and the Gulf of Mexico.

Valve causes nuclear reactor’s hot shutdown

The southeastern Pennsylvania nuclear reactor, which unexpectedly shut down on February 23, 2015 was returned to full power on February 27, 2015, stated owner Exelon Corp. Repairs were made to a valve that closed automatically on one of the Limerick Generating Station Unit 1 reactor's main steam lines, according to a news release from the company.

Cryocomp names new valve managing director

Cryofab Inc., manufacturer of cryogenic dewars and vessels, and owner of Cryocomp Valves, has named Michael Capers as Managing Director for the new cryogenic valves business unit. Mr. Capers, formerly employed by Scientific Instruments (SI) Inc.
