Franklin Valve Franklin Valve was originally formed as a repair center for double block and bleed plug valves, as well as four-way diverter valves for bi-directional meter proving.

Copano to build NGL pipeline

Copano Energy, LLC has formed a 50/50 joint venture with a subsidiary of Energy Transfer Partners to construct, own and operate a 12-inch NGL pipeline in order to facilitate deliveries of mixed NGLs to Formosa Hydrocarbons Co., Inc.

Cla-Val opens R&D lab

Costa Mesa, California based Cla-Val has opened the doors of a new valve research and development lab.  The manufacturer of automatic control valves has dedicated the lab to developing new products to more efficiently operate of waterworks distribution systems, fire protection capabilities in offshore, marine and commercial applications and to improve the function and safety of aviation ground fueling operations. 

Engineering firms join Mott MacDonald

Mott MacDonald’s North American company, Hatch Mott MacDonald, has acquired Richard P Arber Associates based in Lakewood, Colorado and Gibson Engineers PC from Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.

ATEX rated explosion-proof linear actuators

Exlar’s linear actuators meet ATEX requirements for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The line has been expanded to include the EL100 explosion-proof linear actuators, rated for Class I, Div 1, Groups B, C, D and T3 hazardous environments.

Air Products and Linde form HCI JV

Linde Gas North America and Air Products have formed Hydrochlor, a 50-50 joint venture to supply high-purity anhydrous hydrochloric acid (HCl) to the electronics and other industries.

Technip scores major subsea contract

Chevron North America Exploration and Production has awarded Technip a contract for the development of the Jack & St-Malo fields in the Walker Ridge area of the Gulf of Mexico.

Biomass plant for Maine college

A new 8300 sq/ft biomass plant is being constructed at Colby College in Maine.  The project will replace about one million gallons of heating fuel with about 22,000 tons of locally sourced wood chips and low grade forest waste including bark and treetops annually.

Valves perfect for chemical applications

SM Series metering ball valves ranging from ½" to 2" in solid plastics are now available from Chemline Plastics. Designed for fine linear flow control of chemicals or clean fluids through 180o rotation of the handle, the valves feature a solid ball with a special V-groove cut on the outside surface.

Actuator transforms ball valve

Chemline series metering ball valves can become proportional control valves with the addition of an E series electric actuator.  It also has an on-board positioner, thermoplastic housing and a mounting bracket.
