New HART software released

Dwyer Instruments recently released of its new model DEVCOM2000 Hart Communication Protocol software which turns a PC into a full featured HART communicator. Now it is possible to configure transmitters and control valves at the desktop or in the field.

Nebraska lawmakers vote to reroute XL

  TransCanada Corp has stated it supports proposed legislation within the State of Nebraska to reroute the Keystone XL pipeline project to avoid sensitive aquifers.

Convert a quarter turn valve into a relief valve

NY begins gas drilling hearings

The State of New York has begun public hearings on natural gas drilling rules in the Marcellus Shale. Environmentalists say that the rules currently in place are too lax, but industry says that they are so restrictive drillers would avoid exploring in the state.

Magellan Midstream to expand pipeline distribution

Magellan Midstream Partners is constructing a 6 mi, 24in diameter crude oil pipeline between the pipeline interchanges of Genoa Junction and Speed Junction. It will connect to the 24in diameter crude oil pipeline along the Houston ship cannel that was previously announced as part of the partnership's Houston-to-El Paso pipeline reversal project, allowing Magellan to further distribute product from the Eagle Ford Shale area to Houston-area refineries.

Tyco opens facility in Port Arthur

Tyco Valves & Controls has opened a 12,500 sq/ft, state-of-the-art center in Port Arthur, Texas, to maintain and repair customers’ valves, actuation and controls. An experienced team at the facility will service pressure relief valves, quarter turn valves, control valves and actuators.
