New steam turbine for geothermal plants

During the GEA Geothermal Energy Expo in San Diego, U.S.A., Siemens Energy unveiled a new steam turbine, SST-400 GEO, for geothermal power plants. The 60MW turbine combines the Siemens SST-400 steam turbine package with the steam path technologies developed, tested and applied by the steam turbine service provider TurboCare.

Tyco Flow Control continues expansion

Tyco Valves and Controls, a unit of Tyco Flow Control, has opened a new Project Management Center and expanded operations at its oil and gas headquarters in Houston, Texas. The Houston Project Management Center will work in coordination with two existing centers in the United Kingdom and Singapore, providing customers with a single point of contact from Tyco Valves and Controls for the duration of their projects.

2011 Emerson Users Exchange a success

The 2011 Emerson Global Users Exchange was hosted the week of October 24 in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A., with more than 2800 registered attendees at the event. During opening day ceremonies, Steve Sonnenberg, executive vice president of Emerson and president of Emerson Process Management, said that Emerson showed doubled-digit growth in all of its global regions during the last fiscal year, as compared to the year prior.
