MRC to acquire assets of Chaparral Supply

MRC Global Inc. (MRC) today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the majority of the operating assets of Cherokee, Oklahoma based Chaparral Supply, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of SandRidge Energy, Inc.

“Technically leakproof” bellows valves

With very dangerous media, even the minimal ISO FE-Series leak rate can be too high. In cases like these, you can, however, use tried and tested AS-Schneider bellows valves.To move the valve stem upwards and downwards on a leak-free basis, a multi-layer, metal bellow is used that is firmly attached on the one side to the stem and on the other side is firmly welded to the housing.

Entergy Pilgrim nuclear plant license extended

   Entergy's 660MW Pilgrim nuclear plant in Plymouth, Massachusetts has been authorized by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to continuing operating for an additional 20 years, until mid-2032.

Brazilian pre-salt discovery volumes upgraded

Statoil and operator Repsol Sinopec in partnership with Petrobras have confirmed the significant potential of BM-C-33 pre-salt block in the Campos basin offshore Brazil. Including the Seat, Gávea and Pão de Açúcar discoveries, the estimated resources of the block amount to over 700 million barrels of light crude and 3 trillion cubic feet of gas.

FERC outlines advisory role for EPA rule

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved a policy statement which outlined the ways in which it will advise the Environmental Protection Agency on requests for extended deadlines for electric generators to comply with the new mercury and air toxins standards rulings.

WPL purchases Riverside Energy Center

   Alliant Energy Corporation subsidiary, Wisconsin Power and Light Company (WPL) has purchased Riverside Energy Center, LLC which owns Beloit, Wisconsin 600MW combined cycle natural gas-fired electric generating facility Riverside Energy Center, from Calpine Corporation.
