Triple M scores valve order from Petrobras

Triple M Upstream, a division of Brazil-based Triple M, has secured 3 important orders to manufacture special rubber seated butterfly Mack valves for Petrobras. In a package of more than $300,000 calling for 70 valves, Triple M will supply Duplex Trim Valves following the API 609 Class A requirements.

Replacement cartridges offered for ball valves

Colonial Engineering has introduced two series of replacement cartridges for True Union Ball Valves. The CCR series fits Nibco Chemtrol Tru-Bloc TUBVs while the VCR series fits Colonial Full Block series TUBVs.

Mogas now on Petrobras MVLO

After more than a year working on documents, reference lists and tests, Triple M has been successful in getting Mogas Industries USA registered on Petrobras Master Vendors List off-shore ( MVLO). The Petrobras spec of VET valves (Válvulas de Estanqueidade) for metal seated ball valves, is one of the toughest valve specs worldwide, and is utilized on upstream applications, mainly for offshore platforms and FPSO´s.

Valve installation without shutdown

Team Industrial has introduced an insert valve that can be installed on a pipeline without shutting it down. The valve goes on under pressure, so the system is not shut down during installation.

Change to Keystone XL route proposed

An official has told The Associated Press that the U.S. State Department is considering a plan that would reroute the proposed $7 billion Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada. The current proposed route sends the pipeline through the Ogallala aquifer, which supplies water to eight states.

Pneumatic actuators easy to install

Japan-based pneumatic valve actuator manufacturer Bestorque recently began marketing its unique valve actuator in North America. The Bestorque actuator uses a proprietary air motor that is light weight and compact yet develops very high torque.

Parker releases new catalog

The Fluid Control Division of Parker Hannifin Corp has released a new catalog for its Skinner and Gold Ring solenoid valve product offering. The 300-page catalog represents the company’s complete offering of 2-way, 3-way and 4-way general purpose and specialty valves engineered to control virtually any media over a wide range of applications, including hot water and steam for industrial dishwashing, industrial laundry and cooking equipment; NSF certified beverage dispensing; compressors and compressed air systems, including condensate drain valves; fuel dispensing; traditional and alternative fuel delivery systems; and medical and instrumentation.

New ASCO SS valves for offshore

ASCO Numatics has introduced the 8361 series of stainless steel pilot valves. The series’ unique design uses T-seal technology to reduce the dormancy or “sticking” problems that can occur in control valves installed in the pneumatic logic panels that control monitoring safety systems in offshore oil and gas production facilities.

Metso wins large contract for valves in Brazil

Metso and Arcelor Mittal Tubarão, located in Espirito Santo State, Brazil, have signed a service contract covering approximately 2000 automatic and safety valves. The contract also includes intelligent tools for preventive and predictive maintenance and maintenance planning activities.
