A huge power uprate of 149MWe at unit 2 of Florida Power & Light's St Lucie nuclear power plant has been approved by the US nuclear regulator.

 Control valve specialist Samson Controls has introduced enhanced versions of two of its established products: the Type 3291 valve and the Type 3730-6 positioner.The Type 3291 valve is suitable for use in severe operating conditions, such as those found in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries.

Victaulic has acquired MTS Valves & Technology's desalination business, which manufactures and designs valves for the desalination market such as the MTS Plug Valve. A high-pressure valve for control in seawater reverse-osmosis applications, the MTS Plug Valve is also used in other high-pressure membrane treatment applications in highly corrosive environments such as offshore oil and gas sulfate removal systems, water processing for mining, industrial water reclamation and reuse facilities and high-purity water treatment for power.
