LCC to spend millions for oil & gas program

Administrators at Laredo Community College (LCC) are looking into spending several million dollars to buy real-life equipment used in the industry in an attempt to give a more hands-on education. Oil and gas may have slowed down in the last six months, but the director of the oil and gas program says the industry always needs highly skilled technicians.

Chesterton begins new corporate facility expansion

At the end of last month, the A.W. Chesterton Company broke ground on an extensive expansion project at its Groveland Massachusetts facility. The expansion will incorporate new corporate offices as well as a state of the art customer and employee training facility and large service center covering the New England area.

SGS supplying valves for two Brazilian petrochemical fa

SGS has been awarded a three-year contract to conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical and mechanical instrumentation at two major petrochemical facilities in Brazil: Terminal Marítimo Almirante Soares Dutra and Terminal de Rio Grande.

Texas manufacturing activity down

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas’ Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey has revealed that the Texas factory activity declined this past April. The production index, which is a key measure of state manufacturing conditions, has posted a reading of -4.
