GoM lease sale USD$1.7 billion in high bids

USD$1.7 billion in high bids out of a total USD$2.6 billion for all bids was drawn for the Central Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale. 593 bids on 454 tracts covering 2.4 million acres of the 39 million acres total offered were bid on by 56 operators.

Statoil awarded 26 Gulf of Mexico leases

   Statoil was the highest bidder in the first lease sale in the Central Gulf of Mexico since March 2010, being awarded 26 leases.

Brazilian pre-salt discovery volumes upgraded

Statoil and operator Repsol Sinopec in partnership with Petrobras have confirmed the significant potential of BM-C-33 pre-salt block in the Campos basin offshore Brazil. Including the Seat, Gávea and Pão de Açúcar discoveries, the estimated resources of the block amount to over 700 million barrels of light crude and 3 trillion cubic feet of gas.

Statoil secures rig for offshore Newfoundland

   Statoil has come to an agreement with Seadrill to use the West Aquarius deepwater drilling rig for their exploration activities offshore the province of Newfoundland in Canada in 2012-2013.

Anadarko announces first oil at Caesar/Tonga

    As operator, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation announced first oil production at the Caesar/Tonga development in the Green Canyon portion of the deepwater Gulf of Mexico.

Boardwalk building gas plant in Texas

  Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, LP subsidiary, Boardwalk Field Services LLC will be constructing a cryogenic gas processing plant to serve producers in the Eagle Ford Shale and will be expanding its gathering system.

Statoil and partners to explore offshore Newfoundl

Chevron Canada and Repsol E&P Canada partnering with Statoil have successfully bid for exploration rights on two land parcels in the Flemish Pass Basin, offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Statoil already has a presence in the area, at its Mizzen discovery in the Flemish Bass Basin east of the new parcels.
