Tecninox’s butt weld fittings approved by Petrobras
Tecninox, the integrated manufacturing plant within Raccortubi Group, has been awarded Petrobras’ technical approval for its butt weld fittings. The news comes in quick succession of the launch of the Group’s latest subsidiary in South America, Raccortubi do Brasil Ltda.
SGS wins Braskem’s maintenance services contract

Air Liquide ups investment in Brazil
Air Liquide will invest around EUR 40M in a new Air Separation Unit (ASU) that will supply Klabin, Brazil’s biggest paper manufacturer, with oxygen. The new ASU will supply more than 160t of oxygen per day to Klabin’s new factory located in Ortigueira, as well as to Klabin’s other site in Telêmaco Borba, both located in the state of Paraná.
Subsea 7 secures Shell contract in offshore Brazil
Subsea 7 announced the award of a lump sum contract valued at approximately USD 110M by Shell for the installation of jumpers, umbilicals and associated subsea structures for the BC-10 Phase 3 Project in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.Project management and engineering will be performed from Subsea 7’s offices in Rio de Janeiro and will commence in Q1 2014.
Praxair opens air separation plant in Brazil
White Martins, the Brazil-based subsidiary of Praxair, has started up a new 800-ton-per-day air separation plant in the state of Minas Gerais, in southeastern Brazil.
Sergipe-Alagoas Basin formation test completed
Petrobras has completed a formation test on well 3-BRSA-1178D-SES (3-SES-176D), informally known as Farfan 1, to evaluate the production capacity of the accumulation located in the BM-SEAL-11concession area, block SEAL-M-426, in the ultra-deep waters of the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin.

GE installs 500th wind turbine in Brazil
GE completed its 500th wind turbine installation in Brazil. The 1.6MW turbine was installed at DESA’s 38-MW Eurus project in João Camara in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.
”We selected GE for this project because of the company’s industry-leading technologies in wind power generation and its commitment to the industry here in Brazil”, said Carlos Augusto Leite Brandão, CEO, DESA.
