Suncor begins FPSO planned maintenance

Suncor Energy has begun its planned maintenance shutdown of the Terra Nova Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility that operates offshore Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada. The Off Station Program (OSP) is part of the facility’s ongoing planned maintenance program that is designed to support safe, reliable operations.

The dockside work which includes the replacement of the FPSO water injection swivel and routine maintenance, will take place at Marystown, NL. An extensive subsea program will be executed at the field to replace subsea flow lines and risers while the facility is off station. Shutdown of production began on June 8th and the vessel is anticipated to arrive at the shipyard next week. The work is expected to take 21 weeks from shutdown to restart, during which time there will be no production from the Terra Nova FPSO.
