GE Oil & Gas sets sights on Indonesia

GE Oil & Gas Indonesia, a subsidiary of GE Oil & Gas aims to supply the components needed for the development of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant at the gas-rich Masela block in eastern Indonesia’s Arafura Sea.

In September 2016, the United States-based company GE Oil & Gas won a contract from British oil giant BP to provide the liquefaction components for the third train of the Tangguh LNG project in West Papua, expected to supply 3.8 million tons per annum (mtpa) of LNG. This year, they’ve set their sights on Masela, which is estimated to be able to produce 1,200 mmscfd and 24,000 barrels of condensate per day for 24 years.
