Fluor Corporation announced that it was named as one of the Ethisphere Institute’s World’s Most Ethical (WME) Companies for 2013. This year marks the seventh consecutive year that Fluor has been honored with the WME distinction. The Ethisphere Institute, a leading international organization dedicated to the creation, advancement and sharing of best practices in business ethics, governance, anti-corruption and sustainability, selects the WME companies that embrace ethical business practices and demonstrate industry leadership.
“At Fluor, we take our commitment to ethical business behavior very seriously and through our global programs work to promote a culture that helps our employees address this important issue in their everyday work lives,” said Mr. Glenn Gilkey, Senior VP for Human Resources and Administration. “We are truly honored to receive this recognition for a seventh straight year. Fluor owes its success in this area to our diverse employee workforce, all of whom embody Fluor’s values of integrity, safety, teamwork and excellence regardless of their job assignment or work location.”
Ethisphere reviewed nominations from companies in more than 100 countries and 36 industries with a multi-step analysis. The methodology for the World’s Most Ethical Companies includes reviewing codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories; evaluating the investment in innovation and sustainable business practices; looking at activities designed to improve corporate citizenship; and studying nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers.
