AkzoNobel starts supply to world’s biggest single

AkzoNobel's new Jupiá Chemical Island in Brazil is now operational and has started supplying the Eldorado Brasil Celulose pulp mill, which is the biggest in the world. Operated by the company's Pulp and Performance Chemicals business, the state-of-the-art Jupiá facility represents one of AkzoNobel's largest investments in Latin America.

Petrobras announces quality oil discovery

Petrobras announces that it has confirmed the presence of good quality oil (31 º API) in ultra deep waters in the Santos Basin pre-salt while drilling well 1-SPS-98 (1-BRSA-1063-SPS), informally known as Sagitário. This is the first well to be drilled in the BM-S-50 block and is located 194 km off the coast of the state of São Paulo in 1,871 meters of water.

PPL Electric Utilities to invest nearly USD 1B

PPL Electric Utilities will invest nearly USD 1B this year to improve the reliability of the system that delivers power to its nearly 1.4 million customers. The projected investment of USD 968M includes USD 616M for transmission projects which is the largest scale infrastructure investment since the 1970s.
