News

Our editors gather news and press releases from around the world to bring our community the latest developments in the valve and actuation industry. Here you can find news involving the people and companies involved in the design, manufacturing, supply, maintenance and use of industrial valves and actuators. We focus both on engineered products as off the shelf products.

Brazil approves Belo Monte Power Dam

The Brazilian environment agency Ibama has approved the construction of the Belo Monte power dam in the Amazon.  The project has been subject to controversy among natives and other conservationists.

Cameron acquires Brazil’s Vescon

Cameron has acquired Vescon Equipamentos Industriais Ltda., a company which manufactures onshore wellhead and Christmas trees systems and API 6A and 6D valves.

Innovative control valve

The new Sharktooth provides excellent throttling characteristics, plus aerodynamic noise attenuation, and liquid cavitation reductions. An innovative Control Cartridge is used to turn triple eccentric butterfly valves into control valves with exceptional control characteristics, as well as Class IV, V, or VI metal-to-metal, fire safe shut-off. They are readily available in carbon steel, stainless steel and special alloys for liquids, gasses, and steam at temperatures from cryogenic up to 850F in 150, 300 and 600 ANSI pressure classes, from 3 in through 48 in, with a wide choice of actuators and control accessories.

Valves measure up to high temperatures

The new M-series metal seat ball valves from A-T Controls stand up to abrasive fluids, high pressure, steam and high temperatures with an oversized stem and larger ball design to prevent leaks.

Stepper drivers available in 24 hours

A variety of stepper drivers from Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions, Inc., (Haydon Kerk) are now available for 24 hour shipment.  There’s a stepper driver offered for immediate shipment that will work with virtually any size linear actuator offered by Haydon Kerk.

Cameron redesigns nozzle check valve

Cameron has re-designed its ENTECH DRV-BN Nozzle Check Valve. The DRV-BN is the newest large-bore addition to Cameron’s valve portfolio.

Protection for pumps and valves

Moyno has engineered the new Max-Flow Annihilator(TM) Grinder System headworks debris handling system to protect downstream pumps, valves and process equipment in water treatment plants and their lift stations.

Combined valve and actuator

Assured Automation's "Valve + Actuator" VA series operating life has been tested to over one million cycles. The series combines a pneumatic actuator and a fast on-off control valves into one body to eliminate packing glands, actuators and mounting kits.

Safer operation with automatic degassing valves

Accu-vent automatic degassing valves are designed to automatically vent vapors and gases that are commonly released from chemicals such as hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite or sulfuric acid.

New and improved butterfly valves

Chemline elastomer seated butterfly valves have been improved. The new Type 57 replaces Type 56 up to 14 in and the Type 57 body, disc and seat have been redesigned to offer better flow characteristics and lower torques.
