Petrobras’ CEO at Downstream Asia 2011

T.D. Williamson to open Global Pipeline Integrity

T.D. Williamson, Inc. (TDW) has announced plans for the creation of a Global Pipeline Integrity Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Once complete, the facility will combine the TDW inline inspection engineering, manufacturing, operations, service center, and data analysis functions in one location.

EMAS AMC wins subsea contract

BP Exploration & Production has granted a contract to EMAS AMC (EMAS) to perform subsea work in the Atlantis field in the Gulf of Mexico. EMAS will supply jumper and associated hardware and install and replace subsea equipment including manifolds and pipeline end manifolds.

Wood Group and Pratt & Whitney forge alliance

Pratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS) and Wood Group GTS (GTS) hav entered into a strategic alliance to jointly service the GE Frame 7FA industrial gas turbine aftermarket. GTS has been granted an exclusive 10 year license for sale and distribution of PWPS manufactured combustion hardware, hot gas path components and high technology repair services.

The Fluid Control Division of Parker Hannifin Corp recently introduced an enhanced model of its 810 Series angle body piston valve that features stroke limitation while maintaining the standard optical valve position indicator.

New steam turbine for geothermal plants

During the GEA Geothermal Energy Expo in San Diego, U.S.A., Siemens Energy unveiled a new steam turbine, SST-400 GEO, for geothermal power plants. The 60MW turbine combines the Siemens SST-400 steam turbine package with the steam path technologies developed, tested and applied by the steam turbine service provider TurboCare.

Siemens has appointed Paulo Ricardo Stark to serve as its new CEO in Brazil. Stark is a native of Brazil. He is an electrical engineer with wide-ranging international experience. His work for Siemens includes stints in Mexico and in several positions in Germany, where he most recently headed a Business Unit in the company's Industry Sector.
