Growth forecast for valve industry

A forecast from the McIlvaine Company states that the industrial valve market will hit $53 billion in 2012. The report predicts that Asia will be the biggest market, at more than $20 billion, where the market is driven by the huge investments in heavy industry and infrastructure.

Reduce cost and protect systems

Tyco plans to separate into three companies

On September 19th Tyco International Ltd announced that its Board of Directors has unanimously approved a plan to separate the company into three independent, publicly traded companies. The three companies created through the separation will consist of: the ADT North America residential security business, a North America-based provider of security for homes and small businesses; a provider of flow control products and services; and a commercial fire and security business.

Waste to energy plant emerging in Mexico

The city of Saltillo, Mexico, is the site of a new waste-to-energy plant that will begin construction in November, 2011. Early in September, a consortium including Eco Energía Renovables, Canromex, Guascor de México, Colibrí Capital, Biogás y Energía, Desarrollo de Proyectos de Energía Renovables, and Desarrollo Ecoambiental de México was awarded the contract for what will initially be a 2MW plant.

Greene’s Energy acquires Pro-Valve Services

Greene’s Energy Group (GEG) has acquired the assets of Houma, LA based Pro-Valve Services, Inc. The acquisition will broaden the after-market production valve services provided by GEG’s Wellhead and Valve division.
