Expro awarded GoM subsea services contract

Expro has been awarded a USD$3.4 million, two-year contract working on the Who Dat project in the Gulf of Mexico for LLOG Exploration. Expro will be providing subsea test trees for the project on the Mississippi Canyon Block 547.

CB&I awarded Kearl oil sands contract

CB&I has been awarded an approximately USD$300 million contract for work on the Kearl Expansion Project in Alberta, Canada by Imperial Oil Resources Ventures Ltd. The contract for this phase of the work includes procurement, module assembly at CB&I's Fort Saskatchewan facilities and construction and installation of modular components at the site.

Anadarko signs Lucius joint venture deal

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to enter into a joint venture capital carry arrangement for Anadarko's ownership in the Gulf of Mexico Lucius development project with an undisclosed party.

Alfa Laval acquires Vortex Systems

Alfa Laval has acquired U.S. Manufacturer of mixing and blending solutions for the oil and gas industry, Vortex Systems. Vortex Systems wills be consolidated and integrated into Alfa Laval from June 30th, 2012.

Sunoco & Carlyle Group form refinery joint venture

The Carlyle Group L.P., global asset manager and Sunoco Inc. have agreed to form a joint venture Philadelphia Energy Solutions, that will enable the historic Philadelphia refinery to continue to operate.

BASF acquires ITWC Incorporated

BASF has acquired Malcom, Iowa-based ITWC, which specializes in cast elastomer polyurethane systems and polyester polyols. BASF is acquiring ITWC's assets, including those obtained during the company's acquisition of Hydroseal Polymers Inc.

S.C. State receives funds from nuclear security ag

South Carolina State University has received almost USD$1 million to assist students in the nuclear engineering field, from the National Nuclear Security Administration. The leaders at the Orangeburg school were presented the funds by Administration representatives last week.

GoM lease sale USD$1.7 billion in high bids

USD$1.7 billion in high bids out of a total USD$2.6 billion for all bids was drawn for the Central Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale. 593 bids on 454 tracts covering 2.4 million acres of the 39 million acres total offered were bid on by 56 operators.

Tyco opens its largest ball valve plant

Tyco International unit, Tyco Flow Control opened a new state-of-the-art plant in Chengdu, China, the capital of Sichuan Province in May. The plant is part of Tyco's three-year, USD$100 million China-wide investment program, including a China Engineering Center in Shanghai and a high-performance Steam Testing Center in Qingpu.
