ExxonMobil Chemical Co. begins expansion project

ExxonMobil Chemical Company started the construction of a multi-billion dollar ethane cracker at its Baytown, Texas, complex and associated premium product facilities in nearby Mont Belvieu.

Acro launches Versagrip solenoid product line

Acro Associates, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bimba Manufacturing, launched the Versagrip Solenoid Pinch Valves, a solenoid (electric) product line designed to provide greater flexibility for a wide array of fluidic control system applications.

Pressure relief valve for concentrated solar power

Safety valve manufacturer LESER presented its pressure relief valve for concentrated solar power plants at the CSP exhibition in Las Vegas in June. Parabolic trough systems, which are currently the most widely installed concentrated solar power system, require safety valves to secure the heat transfer fluid (HTF) which can reach up to 150–400°C.

Submersible position monitor for hydraulic actuators

K Controls submersible valve position monitors can be fitted to a wide range of 1/4 turn or linear hydraulic sub-sea valve actuators. They continuously monitor the valve position through 4–20mA + HART, PROFIBUS PA or FOUNDATION FIELDBUS signals.

SNC-Lavalin to acquire Kentz Corporation

SNC-Lavalin Group reached an agreement with Kentz Corporation (Kentz) on the terms of a cash acquisition to acquire the entire ordinary share capital of Kentz – issued and to be issued.

FERC approval for Cameron LNG Liquefaction project

CB&I congratulated Cameron LNG, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, on receiving authorisation from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to site, construct and operate a natural gas liquefaction and export facility at the site of the company's LNG receipt terminal in Hackberry, Louisiana.
