Los Ramones Pipeline gets two new investors

Mexico's state-owned petroleum company Pemex has signed an agreement giving two investment funds a 45 percent stake in a natural gas pipeline in exchange for $900 million. The Los Ramones pipeline will transport natural gas from Texas to Mexico and is intended to facilitate imports of cheap US gas and lower Mexico's high commercial electricity rates.

Nordson EFD releases digital product catalogue

Nordson EFD, the precision fluid dispensing systems manufacturer, has released the sixth edition of its Engineered Fluid Dispensing Product Catalogue. What’s different about this edition of the catalogue is that it is available in a digital version and even a mobile app version.

Cone valve needed for Summersville Dam

The US Army Corps of Engineers has issued a new call/tender for bids to supply a fixed cone valve to Summersville Dam on the Gauley River in West Virginia. All bids are requested by April 9, 2015. Summersville is the second tallest dam east of the Mississippi River and was completed by the Corps in 1966 for flood control recreation and flow augmentation.

Private equity firm buys aerospace valve company

A private equity firm that began a strategy three years ago to buy small aerospace component firms has bought a second Connecticut factory. The manufacturing conglomerate, the Loar Group, has purchased Gar Kenyon, a 60-year-old aerospace valve business located in Naugatuck, Connecticut.

DeZURIK’s knife gate valves earn SIL

The Minnesota-based DeZURIK has announced that four knife gate valve product lines have earned Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Certification per the requirements of the IEC 61508:2010 standard. The specific products are the KGC Knife Gate Valves, KSV Severe Service Knife Gate Valves and KUL Urethane Knife Gate Valves have been certified as SIL 3 capable, and its KSV Double Block & Bleed Valves have been certified as SIL 2 capable.

Sasol breaks ground on ethane cracker

Last Friday, Sasol broke ground on its ethane cracker and derivatives mega project near Westlake, Lousisana. The new facility that will roughly triple Sasol’s chemical production capacity in the United States.

Rotork’s actuators used for pipeline

Rotork GO gas-over-oil actuators have been supplied for vital failsafe valve control duties on a new cryogenic LNG pipeline in Venezuela. The San Joaquin Pipeline, owned by Venezuela state oil company PDVSA, transports LNG for the international market between the San Joaquin and Jose cryogenic plants.

New HPC40 series pressure calibrator

Crystal Engineering, a unit of AMETEK Test & Calibration Instruments, is now offering a new handheld pressure calibrator that delivers deadweight tester accuracy in an onsite instrument. It is designed for process control applications, such as verification or calibration of pressure gauges, transducers, transmitters, pressure switches and safety valves.
