IRM Systems opens Houston base

IRM Systems, the independent authority on emergency pipeline repairs, has announced that it has opened a new base of operations in Houston, Texas. Improving efficiencies in hydrocarbon recovery has meant the production cost per barrel using older, existing assets has dropped significantly.

Batson-Cook Tampa wins ABC Eagle Award

Port Tampa Bay’s Petroleum Facilities Improvements Project, a joint venture between Batson-Cook Construction and Balfour Beatty Construction, was presented the Eagle Award by the Associated Builders and Contractors’ Gulf Coast Chapter at its recent annual awards event.

Positive flow control valves

Burrow Industries, located in Temperance, Michigan, has introduced the Positive Flow Control valve. It is a cut-off valve for auger filling of fine products for the food and pharmaceutical industries. The Positive Flow Control valve is made of 303 stainless steel and FDA-approved for food.

Victaulic announces JV with Bermad

Victaulic, manufacturer of mechanical pipe-joining and fire-protection systems, announced a joint business venture with Bermad, a leading global producer of hydraulic water and air valve technologies. The new business partnership, called Victaulic Bermad Technologies (VBT), will be based in Houston, Texas, and will be focusing on select markets and applications, including commercial fire protection – expanding the Victaulic valve and device offering in the US and Canadian regions.

SUSTAKON: The new all-round material

SUSTAKON is the first semi-finished product made of the new polyketone (PK) material. This material opens up brand-new options for engineers for manufacturing parts of plants and machines. Due to its chemical structure, the polyketone (PK) SUSTAKON offers a unique combination of mechanical, tribological and chemical characteristics.

Valve World Americas Con.: Design of a valve workshop
