There is an estimated extraction of 125 000 bpd of oil and 70 million ft3/d gas at the Tahiti facility in the Gulf of Mexico, where valuable energy resources are in abundance at extreme depths.

Farley nuclear station undergoes valve repair

Late last month, the workers at Farley nuclear power plant located near Dothan in southeast Alabama, took Unit 1 offline for a scheduled refuelling and maintenance outage. Workers with Southern Nuclear were performing upgrades to the plant systems and components in addition to refuelling the reactor and performing regular maintenance and testing.

Pentair expands valve portfolio

Pentair Valves & Controls recently showcased its expanded portfolio of specialised products for the LNG industry at the World Gas Conference (WGC) 2015 in Paris, France earlier this month. Enhancing its current range of products for use across the entire LNG chain, Pentair introduced the Vanessa Series 30,000 Buttweld Top Entry Body Triple Offset Valve (TOV), an FCT cryogenic ball valve and a new Anderson Greenwood 9300H pilot operated pressure relief valve at WGC.

ITT showcasing valve solutions at ACHEMA

At the upcoming ACHEMA show, which will be held from June 15 to 19 in Frankfurt, Germany, ITT Corporation will be showcasing its latest valve solutions technologies. Extra shut-off valves recommended for MN pipeline

Minnesota regulators have endorsed a controversial northern Minnesota pipeline to carry North Dakota’s crude oil, but left open the prospect of shifting its course away from northern lakes. IDEX Corporation, based in Lake Forest, Illinois, is a publicly traded company engaged in the development, design, and manufacture of fluidics systems and specialty engineered products. The company has just announced its acquisition of Alfa Valvole srl, an Italian manufacturer of specialty valve procuts used in the chemical, petrochemical and energy markets.
