Eastern Industrial acquires M&R Pipe and Supply

Eastern Industrial Supplies (EISI), which is a wholesale distributor of pipe, valves, fittings and industrial supplies, has announced that it has acquired M&R Pipe and Supply, which is a PVF distributor based out of Birmingham, Alabama.

Beswick miniature ball valve

Beswick introduced the smallest 10-32 threaded ball valves in the miniature fluid power industry. These 10-32 threaded ultra-miniature ball valves offered many advantages and, not surprisingly, when all the votes were counted the Beswick MBVMD-1010-303 ball valve won Design News Magazine’s The Best New Product Award in 2011.

Techcon Systems’s DMP diaphragm valve

Techcon Systems, a product group of OK International and a provider of fluid dispensing systems and products, has developed a new disposable material path (DMP) diaphragm valve. The new TS5624DMP valve features a “first to market” disposable material path, enabling difficult fluids and pre-mixed two-part epoxies to be dispensed without the need for frequent cleaning.

AutomationDirect’s G-thread pneumatic fittings

AutomationDirect’s NITRA line of pneumatics products now offers G-thread push-to-connect fittings and flow control valves. G-threaded components are made with strong thermoplastic (PBT) or nickel-plated brass bodies and stainless steel tube gripping claws and have a pre-applied O-ring to seal.

Plant shut down involves isolation valve

The Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth, Massachusetts is back online after an automatic shutdown was triggered this past weekend. The shut-down was caused by a broken instrument control line feeding one of the plant’s four main steam isolation valves.

Chesterton acquires Ceramic Polymer

A.W. Chesterton Company, the manufacturer of ARC Efficiency & Protective Coatings, has recently acquired Ceramic Polymer GmbH, which is the manufacturer of industrial coatings that protect the metal and concrete of large industrial structures such as storage tanks, pipelines and bio gas facilities.

Fire safety for pneumatic control systems

Now FM-approved FireChek® thermal shutoffs with resettable memory shape alloy can be used to automatically shut down a pneumatic control system when a nearby fire occurs, or when the ambient temperature reaches 135, 150, or 165°F.
