MRC Global Inc., a global distributor of valve, pipe and fitting products and services to the energy industry, with multiple branches in North and South America, recently announced that it has initiated a rebranding of its global brands.

AZZ contract for nuclear valve services

AZZ Inc., with headquarters in Texas, recently announced that it was awarded a contract from the Comision Federal de Electricidad (the Federal Electricity Commission "CFE") to refurbish main steam isolation valves (MSIVs) and reactor recirculation cooling system valves at the Laguna Verde 1 and 2 Nuclear Power Plants near Veracruz, Mexico. Under the terms of the contract, AZZ will provide specialty proprietary technology to execute valve repair services beginning with Laguna Unit 1 during scheduled outages in the fall of 2015 and continuing in the spring of 2016.

1st installation of Welltec® Flow Valve system

Welltec® recently completed the very first application of a new well completion technology. Smith Flow Control promotes Sander Van Den Bos

Smith Flow Control (SFC), with a branch in Erlanger, Kentucky, has promoted Sander van den Bos to international business development manager. In his new role, van den Bos will direct SFC international sales teams and distributor networks, who help customers in the oil & gas and chemical processing industries select and implement SFC valve operators and mechanical interlocks.

FCX names Thomas Cox Chief Executive Officer

FCX Performance, Inc. (FCX), a global valve manufacturer based in Columbus, Ohio, recently announced the appointment of Thomas Cox as Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Cox, who became a Director of the company earlier this year, will continue to serve on FCX’s board of directors.

Nibco’s Sure Seal acquisition expands valve offering

Nibco, Inc., a global valve manufacturer headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, recently announced that it has acquired the assets of the Sure Seal product line from OPW Engineered Systems, Inc. Sure Seal specializes in the design and manufacture of industrial valves and components.
