Snow Phipps acquires Kele valve distributor

Antares Capital and American Capital have arranged for USD $170 million in financing to support the acquisition of Kele Inc. by Snow Phipps Group LLC. Kele is a distributor of peripheral control products, including control valves, used in industrial and commercial building automation systems.

NGL shut-down valves for safety

NGL Supply Terminal Co., suppliers of liquid natural gas (LNG) and crude oil within North America, has promised that its proposal for a liquefied petroleum gas depot at Rigby Yard in South Portland, Maine, would be even safer than its current rail distribution site on Commercial Street in Portland.

ASG LVDTs for valve position sensing

New Jersey-based Alliance Sensors Group (ASG) has developed a broad line of linear variable differential transformers (LVDTs) for power generation and heavy industrial applications. ASG LVDTs are used for valve position sensing in power plants and for heavy duty operations in steel, aluminum and paper mills, stamping or die presses, and mining machinery, where a generic LVDT cannot operate or survive.

Adm. Howard visits Navy top valve supplier

Admiral Michelle Howard, Vice Chief of Naval Operations, toured the Milwaukee Valve plant in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin on Nov. 20. Milwaukee Valve Company is the Navy's largest supplier of shipboard valves.

$56 billion valve revenue break-down  

According to the latest findings from the McIlvaine Company (based on the latest 12 month determinations) sales of global industrial valves in 2014 were USD $56 billion; the top 50 companies generated revenues of USD $22,900 billion representing 41 percent of the total.

CIRCOR expands valve stem extension capability

CIRCOR Energy has announced that KF Valves, a CIRCOR business located in Oklahoma City, has expanded its capability to manufacture stem extensions and reduce lead times to better serve buried or underground pipeline demands for customers.

Festo valves at the 2015 Chem Show

Festo is showcasing its new pre-engineered automated valve assemblies at the 2015 Chem Show in New York. These assemblies feature a ball valve integrated with sensor box, Namur valve, actuator, and positioner.

Zhongli purchases Stern Rubber Company

The purchase of Minnesota-based Stern Rubber Company (Stern Rubber) by Michigan-based Zhongli North America, Inc. (Zhongli) was recently announced by Kenneth Rohan, Vice President of Operations for Zhongli.

State mandates shut-off valves in California

The State of California has taken another step in water conservation, adopting a stricter landscape ordinance that includes lowering the size threshold for projects that fall under the new water efficiency provisions.

$8 billion in valves for power plants in 2016

According to the McIlvaine Company, power plant valve purchases will remain at a high level thanks to continued construction of new coal-fired power plants in China, Vietnam, Indonesia and Japan. Next year nearly 50 percent of the $8 billion power plant valve expenditures will be by East Asian power generators.
