AVK knife gate valves installed at biogas plant

AVK Group, which has numerous locations throughout the US, has delivered 36 knife gate valves to a new biogas plant in Denmark. The new plant will primarily be producing biogas from local cattle and pig manure, industrial waste products and food leftovers. The plant is expected to treat 300,000 tonnes of biomass every year and it will be able to supply the natural gas network with approximately nine million cubic metres bio methane.

30 of the valves are installed in the manifold where the manure is picked up and carried around the plant. A few of these valves are placed on the outside of the containers and are used to transport beets (which are the preferred food resource) directly into the process. Additionally, six valves are installed to fill and empty the plant’s three heating modules.
