Alberta oil sands projects expanding

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc has received new contracts from seven clients in the Alberta Oil Sands to support steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) and bitumen upgrading expansion projects. Officials estimate the combined total construction value of the awarded projects at more than $1.4 billion. Project scopes include front end engineering and design (FEED), engineering procurement and construction (EPC), fabrication and construction management on a variety of projects. The construction values on each project range in value from $15 to more than $650 million. Strict client confidentiality and the competitive nature of the projects and prohibit Jacobs from providing specific details about the projects.
