The 52nd Sea Horse Institute, a marine corrosion conference, will be held August 13-16, 2001 in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, USA. The Sea Horse Institute, sponsored by LaQue Center for Corrosion Technology Inc. And with partial support from the U.S. Office of Naval Research brings together engineers, scientists, technicians and maintenance personnel, plant managers, manufacturers and consultants from around the world to share their knowledge and experience. The technical sessions will include the following topics: Corrosion, fouling and protection of dynamic components and seawater handling equipment, Corrosion of structures, and components in-and-around seawater and Economics and availability of corrosion resistant materials for marine application. The conference provides an open dialogue format to discuss the use, performance, corrosion and protection of materials in marine environments. It helps attendees recognise problems cause by marine corrosion and the means by which to solve them.
