Wood Group acquires Sunstone Projects

The oil castor services company, Wood Group, has acquired Sunstone Projects, a pipeline consulting company based in Calgary, Canada. The purchase reportedly cost $13 million USD.

Sunstone, which currently employs 70 workers, will be rebranded as Wood Group Mustang and will operate within its Canadian operations. Sunstone President Barry Bauhuis, will continue to lead the team. Through this acquisition, Wood Group will benefit from enhancing its pipeline engineering capability in Canada.

“The Canadian pipeline system is expected to expand to ensure access to markets for oil & gas produced in Western Canada. The acquisition of Sunstone will strengthen our ability to provide our clients with services in this area,” commented Steve Knowles, president of Wood Group Mustang. Sunstone’s capability and geographic presence are complementary to our existing pipeline business.
