Westinghouse forms business unit in Canada

To better serve its Canadian customers, Westinghouse Electric Co. LLC has announced the formation of Westinghouse Electric Canada Inc. The headquarters will be based in Toronto, Ontario allowing the company to align itself with regulations and requirements to meet the growing business opportunities in the country. With over 150 suppliers in Canada providing a range of services and products for the Westinghouse product lines of fuel, automation, services and nuclear power plants, the establishment of Westinghouse Electric Canada will allow the company to strengthen ties with these suppliers. It will also position the company for future new nuclear power plant business in Canada. Canadian utilities have expressed interest in the Westinghouse AP1000 pressurized water reactor and a 200MWe class integral pressurized water reactor that is currently under development for smaller electric grids, process heat requirements and distributed generation, the Westinghouse Small Modular Reactor.
