Weir new safety relief valve facility

Weir’s Flow Control division, a leading valve and pump solutions provider, with numerous locations in the United States and Canada, has opened a new facility in Malaysia, benefiting Weir’s Safety Relief Valve customers. The new facility will increase the global reach and competitiveness of Weir Flow Control by establishing a manufacturing and assembly plant close to Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur.

Building on the established success of its dedicated Malaysian foundry, Weir will expand its manufacturing footprint to offer fully assembled valves from its Starflow and S9 product ranges, which are widely used throughout global oil and gas, power and chemical markets and are compliant with ISO, ASME and API standards. Available in multiple grades of material, the Malaysian operation has already successfully supplied several large and strategic projects, especially in severe, critical and super-critical applications.

The new manufacturing plant will provide in excess of 3,500 valves within its first year of operation, and a capacity of 10,000 valves per year is expected to be reached within the next 2 to 3 years.
