Weir launches intelligent pressure control systems

Weir Oil & Gas, whose principal operations are in North America, Europe and the Middle East, has announced it has developed real-time measurements and automated controls designed to enhance safety, reduce non-productive time, and to enable operators to make more informed, faster decisions.

These products aim to address the challenge of pinpointing real-time fluid levels and gas flow rates in pressure control equipment. Sensors send real-time information from the equipment back to the control unit and the data is relayed to the customer in a cloud-based portal, accessible by desktop and mobile devices. Should an issue with levels arise, the system is designed to sound the alarm much sooner than traditional systems to give the operator more time to adjust the flow from the choke or for the choke to adjust automatically.
