Vexve Reduces its Carbon Footprint

Global company Vexve is reducing its carbon footprint. Vexve is part of the Vexve Armatury Group, which aims to be the leading provider of mission-critical valve solutions in the transition to a low carbon future. For decades, Vexve has been developing intelligent and environmentally friendly valve solutions for the heating and cooling needs of cities and industry.

High-quality and long-lasting valve solutions help Vexve’s customers achieve their energy efficiency goals and enable the wider use of natural gas and renewable energy sources through district energy. Vexve is thus ensuring the efficiency of energy distribution and developing the entire industry to more environmentally friendly direction globally.

In addition to products, responsibility is also strongly reflected in the company’s other operations. Vexve wants to build a profitable business in an ecologically, socially and economically sustainable manner. One tool used to measure this is the company’s carbon footprint.

The carbon footprint calculation was made for the first time in 2019 and it’s implemented annually with the help of calculators based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol of two Finnish companies. The calculation takes into account the company’s direct emissions (CORE) and emissions from the raw material supply chain (UPSTREAM).

Vexve’s CORE carbon footprint in 2020 was almost half as small as in 2019. A significant part of Vexve’s direct emissions consists of factory heating and electricity, which is used especially to run the machines needed to make the valves. By switching to green electricity, which is produced in a sustainable way, Vexve managed to reduce its carbon footprint by a quarter.
