Valve Basics Seminar and Exhibits will be held on 6-7 March 2012 at Hilton NASA Clear Lake in Houston, Texas. The seminar will feature its Valves and Actuators 101 course of lessons about valves and the systems that they help control from the simple valve types to complex automated products including actuators and controls. For a hands-on experience regarding the products discussed during the course, attendees are allowed to touch and feel at the Valve Petting Zoo, where industry experts will be on hand to answer questions. Manufacturers, suppliers and valve repair and service firms will be showcasing at the tabletop exhibition held only on 6 March.
This entry-level education program was launched in 2009 by the Valve manufacturers Association of America to educate newcomers to the industry as more experienced personnel transition to retirement. The Valves & Actuators 101 course has also been considered a good refresher course for those who wish to expand their knowledge of products used in flow control in the oil & gas, chemicals, refining/petrochemical, water and wastewater, commercial HVAC and power generation industries, etc.
VMA’s annual Technical Seminar and Exhibits will be held 8-9 March 2012 in Houston immediately following the Basics event. The next Valve Basics Seminar and Exhibits will be held in Denver on 10-11 October 2012.
