Valtek supplies Petrobras

Valtek Sulamericana designed special versions of its GLH Globe line of control valves for Brazil’s state-owned oil company Petrobras. The giant valves were specially designed with a high quality cast body made of stainless steel and hardened alloy trim in order to assure the integrity of the seating surfaces and to prevent erosion. The body and remaining wetted parts comply with NACE MR-01.75 standards. The valves are equipped with intelligent positioners (Foundation Fieldbus) able to provide diagnostic data as well as a spring-cylinder actuator. The largest valve has an ANSI rating 1500 operating at temperatures up to 360C and a diameter of 450 mm. From the design of specific components to assembly and final testing, the project was completed in eight months, resulting in a unique portfolio of control valves utilizing the latest technology to provide long-lasting reliability.
