Updated emergency pipeline repair system

To offer better disaster planning and contingency services to operators and contractors, Hydratight has launched an updated Emergency Pipeline Repair System. The system has been released to meet the increasing demands for oil and gas operators to provide effect, safe and efficient contingency plans to react to major accidents following the Gulf disaster last year. A critical level of risk management and repair planning is needed to manage the potential for environmental damage caused by subsea pipelines.

Hydratight’s MORGRIP mechanical connector has been a weldless pipeline tie-in option for repair and emergency contingencies, topside and subsea for over 20 years. The Emergency pipeline repair system can be tailored to provide operators and installation contractors with a way to meet their pipeline contingency needs with urgency.

Companies that join the emergency pipeline repair system club are able to work with Hydratight to prepare a full list of MORGRIP equipment and the associated engineering needs, receive fast delivery of the required device and installation assistance, as well as advanced cost knowledge of instituting a full repair. Advance work, such as design specifications, costings, approval procedures, etc. is mostly eliminated. The company performs advance assessments to ensure that engineering teams, machining and steel stock are allocated and always available in case of emergency services are needed. The ability to prepare for possible needs in advance enables Hydratight to provide products and services quicker during a genuine emergency situation.
