Tyco opens its largest ball valve plant

Tyco International unit, Tyco Flow Control opened a new state-of-the-art plant in Chengdu, China, the capital of Sichuan Province in May. The plant is part of Tyco’s three-year, USD$100 million China-wide investment program, including a China Engineering Center in Shanghai and a high-performance Steam Testing Center in Qingpu.

The plant is the largest ball valve production facility in Tyco Flow Control’s global network, covering 40,000 square meters and will manufacture products from the company’s KTM brand.

Tyco plans to continue expanding production capacity and currently employs over 1,000 staff in China.

Tyco Valves & Control president David Dunbar said, “China is a key part of our global growth strategy. The opening of the Chengdu plant demonstrates our long-term commitment to the Chinese market. Tyco Flow Control’s products and solutions have played a fundamental role in China’s infrastructure projects that are vital to the country’s development. We are pleased to be a part of the country’s plans for the future.”
