Texas passes hydraulic fracturing law

Texas Governor Rick Perry has signed the first law in the U.S. which requires companies drilling and developing shale plays across the state to publicly disclose hydraulic fracturing components. The law requires that the chemical composition of all fracking fluids must be disclosed on a well-by-well basis. The American Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) and many oil and gas operators have publicly pledged their support for the legislation, contending that public disclosure can help increase public confidence in the safe development of the shale gas resources.
