Val-Matic Valve & Manufacturing Corp. recently announced that Ted J. Makowan, President and CEO, will be retiring from Val-Matic on April 6, 2016 but will continue to serve on the  Val-Matic  Board of Directors.

Val-Matic’s Vice President of sales and marketing, Carl W. Smith, will retire on March 31, 2016, after a 32-year career with Val-Matic Valve and Manufacturing Corp. During his tenure, Smith opened new markets for Val-Matic across the globe in international sales, and he later became national sales manager.

Val-Matic Valve & Mfg. Corp. offers all-stainless steel wastewater air valves in sizes 1”- 4” for single housing and sizes 1”- 8” for dual housing.

US valve manufacturer, Val-Matic have introduced their AWWA Swing Check Valve which is said to incorporate design features in order to provide energy savings, ease of maintenance and extended valve life.

   Val-Matic has become the first air valve manufacturer to have their complete line of air valves certified to NSF/ANSI 61 for potable water use provided by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and NSF/ANSI 372 for lead-free products, material and components provided by WQA (Water Quality Association), after completion of testing and data verification.  Legislation in most states requires that drinking water systems must use certified products, if available.

Val-Matic has entered the United Kingdom market with a major project for Thames Water. The project involved an upgraded contract valued at over US189 million for work at east London’s Crossness Sewage Treatment Plant.
