AZZ wins contract in China

The Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth, Massachusetts is back online after an automatic shutdown was triggered this past weekend. The shut-down was caused by a broken instrument control line feeding one of the plant’s four main steam isolation valves.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has sent inspectors to the Omaha Power District Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station, which is located in the state of Nebraska. The inspectors are investigating after a faulty valve was discovered, reported and repaired.
Farley nuclear station undergoes valve repair
Late last month, the workers at Farley nuclear power plant located near Dothan in southeast Alabama, took Unit 1 offline for a scheduled refuelling and maintenance outage. Workers with Southern Nuclear were performing upgrades to the plant systems and components in addition to refuelling the reactor and performing regular maintenance and testing.
Pilgrim nuclear plant to receive closer scrutiny
In an inspection report released by the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, federal regulators have announced that the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station may be subjected to even stricter oversight because of the glitches that occurred after the reactor shut down during a blizzard this past January.
