AUMA, the electric actuator manufacturer, has expanded its portfolio of modular valve control devices with a new range of GP coaxial gearboxes. The gearboxes are designed for gate and globe valve operation as well as part-turn applications, such as butterfly and ball valves.

For applications with significant hazard potential in the oil & gas sector and other industrial markets, fail safe actuators are required. These specialist devices automatically open and close valves in the event of emergency, even with disrupted power supply.

The latest addition to Rotork Gears’ gearboxes is a rugged, industrial grade product designed for use with motorised quarter-turn valves and dampers. The new AB550M gearbox is manufactured as standard with cast iron housing components, high performance axial thrust bearings, a protected steel input shaft and a polyurethane coating to deal with arduous applications and aggressive environments.

The introduction of the IS21 gearbox adds higher thrust ratings to Rotork’s established range of multi-turn, thrust taking spur gearboxes. Retaining most of the parts from the IS20, the IS21 incorporates a new F60 cast ductile iron thrust base, thrust bearings, spigot ring and output sleeve.
