Emerson recently announced its new Remote Assistance service capability to help plant operators immediately respond to industrial valve issues by using augmented reality (AR) technology.

Emerson recently introduced the ASCO™ Series 158 Gas Valve and Series 159 Motorized Actuator. Designed specifically for burner-boiler applications, the new products give OEMs, distributors, contractors and end-users a new combustion safety shutoff valve option that increases safety and reliability and enhances both flow and control.The new valve offers a higher close-off pressure of 75 psi (5.2 Bar), which ensures a safe shutoff in the event of a fuel train system failure and eliminates the need for additional safety components.

Emerson Automation Solutions recently began on its Ohio plant expansion project at a ribbon cutting ceremony. The expansion will consist of two phases, and both should be completed by the end of next year.The first phase of the project will increase the building’s manufacturing space by 12,600 square feet.

Emerson has recently launched the Daniel V707 back pressure control valve. This new valve features an adjustable spring that does not require diaphragms or pilots, which makes it ideal for the crude oil industry.Back pressure valves currently available use rubber diaphragms that are prone to wear, leakage, and have pressure limits to operation.

Emerson recently announced that the Board of directors has selected Mark Blinn, the former President and CEO of Flowserve Corporation, as an independent director.Blinn has 20+ years of experience operating multi-industrial businesses in senior executive roles, as well as legal expertise and Board experience, which includes his time as a Lead Independent Director and Audit Committee Chair.Emerson’s Board of Directors is now comprised of 11 people, 10 of whom are independent.Prior to Flowserve, Blinn held senior finance, treasury and planning positions at FedEx Kinko’s Office and Print Services, Inc., Centex Corp., FirstPlus Financial Inc., Electronic Data Systems Corp.

Emerson’s New Jersey facility for fluid control & pneumatics has been recognized by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection for its leadership in Environmental Stewardship.

Emerson has launched its ASCO™ Series 273 Pinch Valve for the life sciences market. This new series expands on Emerson’s already-extensive pneumatic valve offering to single-use batch applications in bioreactor and fermentation tanks, tangential flow filters and chromatography skids, among other applications.
