An Introduction to Valve Body Material Selection
This article is intended to provide useful information for users such as valve design engineers, valve procurement engineers, and pipeline system design engineers, who are dealing with valve material selection in their daily work.
Bonomi’s flanged stainless & carbon ball valves
Bonomi is introducing to the market its ANSI Class 150 flanged stainless steel and carbon steel ball valves, which are available in sizes 1” to 3” with spring return handles.
BI-TORQ adds new products
BI-TORQ® Valve Automation has added to its suite of fire safe products. The additions include smaller FS/FW series valves and a new high pressure series.
The FS/FW fire safe valves now include ¼" and 3/8" sizes in full port design.
DFT’s innovative axial-flow check valve
DFT Inc., an industry leader in the manufacture of valves for more than 70 years, announces the release of its new BNC™ Check Valve, a nozzle-style, axial-flow check valve specifically designed to excel in high-pressure applications.
Many natural gas companies and other power industries are now placing their pipelines below ground and are looking for a one-piece valve they can weld in and bury.
Fire safe ball valves from Valtorc
Valtorc is now offering fire safe carbon steel ball valves. The Series 160 is a high pressure, high performance ball valve with a working pressure of 2000PSI.
The valves are available in sizes 1/2" through 2" and feature a direct mount design for actuation and standard threaded (NPT) connection ends.
Vac-U-Max gravity diverter valve
Available in various sizes and outlet configurations, the Vac-U-Max gravity diverter valve features state-of-the-art pneumatic actuators and adjustable operating speeds. The unit allows for unrestricted material flow through open gates, with split-body design allowing for easy cleaning and service.
Innovative control valve
The new Sharktooth provides excellent throttling characteristics, plus aerodynamic noise attenuation, and liquid cavitation reductions. An innovative Control Cartridge is used to turn triple eccentric butterfly valves into control valves with exceptional control characteristics, as well as Class IV, V, or VI metal-to-metal, fire safe shut-off. They are readily available in carbon steel, stainless steel and special alloys for liquids, gasses, and steam at temperatures from cryogenic up to 850F in 150, 300 and 600 ANSI pressure classes, from 3 in through 48 in, with a wide choice of actuators and control accessories.
