Val-Matic Valve & Mfg. Corp. is celebrating 50 years in business in 2016. Val-Matic was founded in 1966 by Andrew Nuter and Ted Makowan and started with only a silent check valve product line.

Velan Valves founder, A.K. Velan, and his wife, Olga, recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. They were married on February 22, 1941 in Brno, Czechoslovakia. They came as immigrants to Canada in 1949 with two children.

Val-Matic Valve & Manufacturing Corp. recently announced that Ted J. Makowan, President and CEO, will be retiring from Val-Matic on April 6, 2016 but will continue to serve on the  Val-Matic  Board of Directors.

Industrial Valve Sales & Service Inc. (IVS) is celebrating 40 years of service in the industrial community. It is one of the largest full service valves company in the southeast. In 1975, Don Williams and Jim Harrell recognized an opportunity to repair valves and other equipment in the industrial community.

Smith Flow Control (SFC) was formed in April 1985 by Malcolm Brown, Mike Smith and current managing director Mike D’Anzieri. The company now employs a total of 78 staff, mostly at its headquarters in Witham, Essex, but also has regional offices in Australia, China, India, the Netherlands and the United States.
