Statoil to drill in the Barents Sea

Statoil, a multinational oil and gas company with many offices across the Americas, has received consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to drill exploration well 7317/9-1 in a prospect named Koigen Central in the Norwegian Arctic.

Drilling will begin in August 2017 at the earliest and is scheduled to last 32 days. It will be drilled using the Songa Enabler mobile drilling facility, which is owned and operated by Songa Offshore.
