SMAC to present new LCB actuator

SMAC Moving Coil Actuators, manufacturers of programmable electric actuators based out of Carlsbad, California, recently announced that they will be presenting their new LCB actuator at the upcoming IPC APEX 2016 Expo in Las Vegas.

The main feature of the new LCB actuator is that force more than doubles with the LCB over comparable LCA actuators due to a much higher “Flux Density” (>10K Gauss) in the Moving Coil Actuator magnetic circuit. For example, the 25 mm x 40 mm sized LCB 25 can produce up to 80 N vs 25N in the similar sized LCA 25. Further, accelerations with the new LCB now exceed 100G. This makes SMAC a competitive solution for some higher force applications, previously dominated by pneumatic actuators.
