Singer Valve launches battery operated flow meter

Singer Valve, a manufacturer of automatic control valves for the global water industry based out of Surrey, British Columbia, now a division of Mueller Co., has launched the Battery Operated Single Point Insertion Electromagnetic Flowmeter (SPI-MV) that measures flow rate when power is not available. The flow sensor comes pre-calibrated and requires no recalibration in the field.

The Battery Operated SPI-MV is designed to run independently of an external power source for 3-5 years and a small solar panel can be added to extend the lifetime. According to the company, it may also be paired with an external AC or DC power source so the battery portion becomes a backup for power outages, has variable sampling frequencies that can be adapted to fit the installation needs, and maintains the 2% of actual reading accuracy offered in standard models.
