Sergipe-Alagoas Basin formation test completed

Petrobras has completed a formation test on well 3-BRSA-1178D-SES (3-SES-176D), informally known as Farfan 1, to evaluate the production capacity of the accumulation located in the BM-SEAL-11concession area, block SEAL-M-426, in the ultra-deep waters of the Sergipe-Alagoas Basin.

The test evaluated 30m of turbidite sandstones formation and confirmed good reservoir characteristics featuring excellent productivity of good quality oil (38° API). The well is 104km off the city of Aracaju, some 5km from the discovery well (BRSA-1083) and at a water depth of 2,476m. This formation test, conducted at a depth of 5,609m, is a continuation of the operations carried out in the area. Petrobras is waiting for approval of the Discovery Evaluation Plan submitted to Brazil’s National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP) before proceeding with other activities.
